How to cook Vietnamese roast chicken

In this thread, I showed you how to cook a wonderful Vietnamese recipe of roasted chicken.


The ingredients:

  • The whole chicken
  • Lime leaves _ 11 leaves
  • Lime/Lemon _ a half
  • Lemongrass _ 3 plants
  • Ground peppercorn _ 1/4 tsp
  • Salt _ 4 tsp
  • Chili _ 1 unit

How it's cooked:
- Apply the five-spice-powder and salt on the chicken skin
- Bray the heads of the lemongrass, and cut the lime leaves into
3 parts. Then stuff them into the chicken. Leave the chicken and the fillings within 1 hour
- Bake in oven in 20 minutes each side of the chicken with the temperature of 225 Celsius degrees
- Prepare the dipping salt. Mix 1/4 tsp of lime juice with 2 tsp of salt, and put the sliced chili and ground peppercorn on that mixture.
- Chop the chicken into bite size pieces
- Chop the lime leaves into small pieces, then springkle on the chicken dish
